~Fijicube 18.5 peninsula RFA build~

I was about to order my return upgrade the IM mighty jet 326 and the CA RFG but the 326 is out of stock at most places.
BRS said they should have it again beginning of the month so i'll wait and see. in the mean time i'll finish the stand and do the scape.

That stand looks like it is ready for an upgrade!
Nice job.

What kind of skimmer do you suggest for livestock like that?

update time...
somehow I mess up up on the stand. not 100% sure how it happened but it kinda sucks.
a real bummer as I had some cool plans for skinning it. but it's not square.
so yet another delay. back to the drawing board.

Update time...
So here is the failed 2x4 stand.
Pocket drilled and glued the up right legs so the top box would have been resting on the legs. Problem was/is I built it on an uneven porch and the legs where not level

So the search was in for a suitable stand.
I decided on a T slot alumiuman stand but in searching for all the hard ware and seeing the cost add up. I found a way to use what I have.
For now one we move in 2-3 months I can switch out to the T slot stand.

What I am using us a media stand with glass door for the 2 gal. ATO res.

I painted some 2x4 black to match the stand and give it the a bit more height.

Fresh water testing...its wet!
got it level :D

Cycle started last night around 5pm
Dosed Fritz turbo start 900 and added 20 drops of ammonia to bring it up to just over 2ppm
Tested today at noon around 1ppm ammonia and 5 2ppm No3

Nice job on the scape. Really like the right side view.

captains log:

44 hrs in to cycle with fritz turbo start 900 refrigerated my ammonia is more than .5 but less than 1PPM so we will say .75

guessing with in the next 24 hrs I will be at 0. I will add to another 2 PPM to test cycle.

well I forgot the the API ammonia test kit is kinda notorious for not falling below .25 and here i am waiting for that to happen, of well I have been very busy with life anyway. just tested 7 days after adding the bottled bac. and ammonia still reads .25
nothing is 0 out on the test kits starting to think they are junk.
there all reading .25 so I am gonna call it, and re-dose ammonia back to 2PPMs

only time I use this "master "test kit is when cycling tanks anyway, I fell with the fritz bottled bac. I am on the safe side. it should come down to .25 with in 24hrs or so.

we shall see...I am in no hurry just trying to understand the bottled bac. and there is no point if prolonging the cycle as the good bac. does need ammonia to keep it going.

tank is cycled! I dosed back up to 2ppm and tested around the 30-35 hr mark with the API it's reading back at the .25 mark =0.

I have a busy weekend so gonna let the tank set. maybe eary mon I can order a small CUC and get some life in this bad boy!
