FijiCube or Innovative Marine?

I'm looking into AIOs and am really liking the dimensions of the FijiCube 38 peninsula. However, in searching the forums there don't seem to be many builds using them. It feels like IM and Red Sea are much more popular. Are there any reasons for that? Better quality? Customer service?

I'm not a big fan of the nano Red Sea dimensions. The only IM sizes I might be interested in are the 20 peninsula (obviously a downsize), 30L (would need to buy a second light for the length), or maybe the 40 (just not a fan of the height, and I feel like aquascaping would be limited).

Any advice or experiences would be helpful. It's a big investment, so really want to make sure I'm doing all the research I can.

Fiji cube is a new company so you won't find as much on them as red sea or innovative marine. However, they seem to put out very good products

Have you thought about an IM Lagoon 50?
It’s got a great footprint for aquascaping an aio tank. Usually the filtration chambers in an aio are either too small or they take up too much of the display space. The Lagoon 50 has a display area of roughly 29” x 19”. It’s only 16” tall so lower than the 40. I like mine a lot.

I don’t have a Fijicube tank, but I do have a Fijicube sump. It a high quality product, no complaints.

I bought the fiji cube all in one diy kit to turn a tank into an aio and really like it. I would check the dimensions of the filter chambers on the one you are looking at as well since being newer it may be harder to find a skimmer for. I actually bought the figi cube skimmer to go with mine and it seems to do a decent job.

I did extensive research and came out with Waterbox Cube as the best solution. It is amazing

I really don’t think you could go wrong with IM, Fiji cube, or Red Sea tanks. All of them are high quality. It really depends on what dimensions you are looking for. I have experience with IM in the past and couldn’t have been happier. Awesome tanks! Also, they are having a major sale on their website right now until the end of the year...meaning tomorrow lol. You could possibly save $300+.

Did you get their stand with it or build your own?

I noticed the stands for Waterbox and FijiCube allow the tanks to hang off the stand and just sit above the cabinet doors. That doesn't seem very structurally sound, but maybe I'm missing something.

I don't have a fiji cube tank but do have one of their sumps and their overflow. I also bought an Innovative Marine overflow before I had to replace it with the fiji cube one.

I will never buy another item from Innovative Marine. I bought their 800gph overflow and it struggled to do 300gph. I had it on a 40 breeder and it was bad enough to make me scrap the tank and start over with the figi cube overflow.

The fijicube one is 100% better therfore I decided to take a chance on one of their sumps. It is also very high quality. My 2 cents is avoid IM.

I have the 38 fijicube peninsula with stand. I just set it up and have been running for two weeks. The build quality is great, I had grave concerns about damage from shipping but overall was packed really well and have no complaints. I did get their protein skimmer to go with it and am trying to fine tune.

One recommendation I can make is make sure you get the right size return pump. The one that comes with the tank is loud so I upgraded to a Sicce 1.5 and it was way too powerful. I switched to a Sicce 1.0 and it now works perfectly.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tank.

IM makes just about anything you might need to fit into their AIO sumps(UV sterilizers ,media reactors, protein skimmers, etc).

Awesome, thank you! Exactly what I was hoping to hear. I love the dimensions and like the idea of having more view of coral.

I love my IM tank and all the gear made for it works great especially the UV! In hindsight I think the only thing I would have done differently would be getting the Lagoon 25 over the 20.

I own an IM20, a WB20, and a FijiCube 81g.

The glass scratched on my IM20 simply by using a Flipper nano scraper, and the silicone is showing wear from scraping as well. The tank is two years old.

The WB20 is a nice tank. No complaints other than the glass thickness. It's fine, but every now and then I think "Could it have been one or two more mm's thicker?" I would likely purchase a larger WB tank if my interest took me that way.

The Fiji Cube is a solid tank. Rimless, good glass thickness, good craftsmanship. I also have a Fiji Cube 24" sump and am equally impressed with the quality. I too have looked at the 38 Pen tank as a replacement for my IM20.

Fiji Cube is local to me here in MSP. They are not a new company (as previously mentioned) but are relatively new in the forums.

Really good to know on IM. I think I am leaning more towards the FijiCube now!

I got a Red Sea and a IM. As far as AIO goes IM really does a nice job of complementing their tanks with a wide variety of accessories that will work well and fit the tank. I like them both and don't think either would be a bad choice. Honestly, all the brands you selected look like good choices so I don't think you can go wrong.
