My beautiful aiptasia eating filefish loves my snails. He picks and pokes at them all day and knocks them off, then eats them. I feed frozen brine, mysis and have tried other frozen ones too but he likes his shrimp and the snails. I also add Selcon.

I was considering trying LRS or Rod's. Would either of those be better? Maybe he'd decide to leave my snails alone? Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Cynthia

hi,sorry to say ,once aqqurried taste for them ,hard to change...

it is worth a try,
how big is tank ? watch ammonia.
fish only ? or reef tank?

just guessing ,green spotted file?
do not leave mussels in overnight .

No, it's an aiptasia eating (matted) file fish. He'll eat other stuff but still loves the snails. He also eats all the pods and frozen shrimp I give. PLUS the snails. LOL

they are normally used as a utility fish, you can try larger snails ,trohcus, harder to get unstuck, couple ,2 larger turbo grazers.

Maybe clams on the half shell? But it is also possible it might encourage him to continue to eat your clean up crew :(

I just found your post because I was searching for answers on how to stop my new file fish from eating all my snails. He's ignoring the aptasia and killing snails. I guess that's just a thing they do.
