Poop didn't want to hear that lol

Well so far so good only has eaten a few aptasia and seems not interested in my cup coral at all fingers crossed

I have a file fish the destroyed my aiptasia........and every zooanthid and paly and xenia..........except the ugly brown palys I'm plagued with.......

Try this for the Aiptasia

I had the copperband butterfly in SPS tank and current was to much for him. Got a file fish and so far so good. Weird and cool little fish, hasnt nipped any ZOA's or any other coral. Only eats some of the Aptasia, I am still killing some myself. But he eats off the algae clip as well.

Of my 5 filefisg, 4 ate aiptasia; 3 ate mojanos, and 2 ate zoa and Xenia and similar corals eventually. The 1 that didn't eat monanos or aiptasia ate hundreds of dollars of coral overnight.

Two of them were absolute model citizens, one of which I still have!

So far we're still good aptasia he's going to town on and has not nipped anything else

I wondered about this too. It's hard to imagine some of those little filefish I see in my lfs doing that much damage but I don't want to take the chance!

After I lost my beautiful Copperband, I got a file fish due to the growth of apistasia. Great job on apistsia, then ate hammer, flower and everything except mushroom. Actually came to forum to see what it doesn't eat.

Oftentimes fish or inverts that we get to solve a problem creates another.

As an example, I had peppermints to help with Aptasia. They did a great job, and then once the Aptasia were gone Acans were next on the menu... About $1000 worth... Filefish can decimate Zoas or LPS in short order if they don't have enough food I.e. Aptasia. If they eat other things besides the pest anemones, they may tend to ignore the Aptasia.
Kind of a fine line to walk. There will always be those who have had success, but there are many more who found out the hard way...

Mine is a matted file fish, he been great in our tank so far has not picked at any of my corals :)
