I was having a problem with aspitas was and told to try a filefish. For the first two to three weeks he wasn't a problem but a hardy eater. He got bigger with in a months time. But at the same time my frogspawn Coral was not looking the way they was. I did water changes and feeding them but they still wasn't looking good. Until I did a Major cleaning and turned off my water head and notice that both corls was have eaten. So I sent some time just looking and studying my tank and found out that the filefish was eating away on them. I removed him right away. So please y'all be careful of them.

While rare, people do report Filefish that run out of food will eat their more meaty corals.

I have a Filefish that I have yet to see eat an Aiptasia (but all my Aiptasia are gone now anyway). However, this thing is an eating machine and loves the foods I feed the fish. It has been trained to eat from the floating food circle, which I put freeze dried Mysis in, and it will clear out all the food itself!

Adding predators can be problematic.
Strange things happen in the glass box.
Certainly, a good reminder of risk.
