hi guys what is the best fill light to use with the kessil ap9x. I have two ap9x on my 48"x24"x24" sps dominated wall to wall reef but I would like to add some fill light. the distance between the kessils and the surface of the water is 12", so I would like to find some fill lights that will fit this mounting height. Unfortunately here in Italy they don't sell reefbrites. What do you recommend? or should I change the Kessil with straton, orphek or illumagic blaze? I like the shimmer effect but I hate the disco effect when the colors don't mix.

I have two Orphek 3 Blue Strips pending install if and when needed.

The Kessil tank is fairly new. Corals went in a couple weeks ago.
I started the tank up in July.
The other tank has XR15 Pro’s
That tank was started in Sept. 2020

Both lights are very different and the look is very different as well
I love the sharpness and shimmer of the Kessil
The coverage and look of the Ecotech is more like a blanket than the Kessil which can be more like Spotlights. Note that as you raise the Kessil the spread improves and the spotlight effect is less apparent. The Kessils create more contrast, shadows.
My wife loves the Ecotech lights and colors.
As far as Coral growth, the pics are from the tank under the XR15’s and these were all tiny frags Sept of 2020.
The Kessil’s are new to me and time well tell how they compare.
I’m very happy with both
Id recommend you find local shop or hobbyist who have these lights and see them for yourself.

I fired up my old T5 8 bulb and went to a kalk stirrer and ATO and shocked at results. What is old and cheap works great. Not going to get board likes though lol. Got three ecotech 2s I do not want

I made the wrong choice of getting a hydra 62 instead of two 32s wondering some fill ideas ... I have a 36 in. Tough time dialing even par across ... should I get 2 ai primes or split the length with one 32 or..... for cost go with 2 kessil a80s on the sides of my hydra 62

No idea what all of your options in europe are. Surely you have access to orphek lights though. You can add a couple strips on either side of the kessils. So long as you keep them 12" or more off the water they out to help some
