Looking on adding a few fish to my DT. They will be quarantined of course.

It is a 90g with a handful of coral
I currently have
-sailfin tang
-Hawaiian yellow tang
-2x bangaii cardinals
-six line wrasse
-1 clown

Any ideas on what to add? I like to have more wrasse but I've read issues with six lines. Bartlett Anthias? Gobies? Blenny? Would like to have another tang but I believe I'm maxed out.

The tank is marginal for a yellow tang. It is too small for a sailfin. But sometimes fish will just stop growing when the tank is kinda small, so you might get away with it.

Anthias can be rather delicate. I woukd advise a mix of the smaller reef safe flasher and fairy wrasses. They are active, many are hardy and many are brightly colored.

@PatW i bought the sailfin knowing I would upgrade to a 220/240 in the coming year. I think I will go the route of more flasher/fairy wrasse. Was also weighing 3 or 5 Bartlett or lyretail anthias. Thank you

Yeah that six line will chase the rest of the other wrasses to the floor. Don't go there.

If you replace your six line with a melanarus or yellow coris - both halichoeres species, you can put a variety of different wrasses in with them. I have fairy and a few different leopards. Neither my melanarus or yellow bother anyone.

Don't go with flashers or fairies as long as the sixline is in there.
<<< Firefish are very cool, low bio-load and you can have a small school of them.
Firefish are pr forming and intolerant of consexuals, so are not good as a group. Also, they are quite docile and easily bullied by a sixline.

Suggestions I would recommend include flame or longnose hawk, midas blenny or orange spot blenny, bimaculatus anthias.

It all depends on the fish. I recently added a melanarus to a 90 gallon tank with a six line. The six line chased him at first and then he hid for a few days. Now, they get along great. I would make sure the melanarus is the bigger of the two. Scooter blennys are my favorite. I have two and they add a lot of personality. Good luck!

There are exceptions, but the majority of sixlines become aggressive. And without fail they will be aggressive to fairy and flasher wrasses.

My little school of Firefish get along "swimmingly" lol

There are always exceptions, but for the most part it does not work out well over a couple of months, oftentimes even less.

How long have they been together?

A couple of months. I'll keep an eye out for that behavior. Thanks for the heads up!
