just setup my first saltwater tank last night. It's a marine land 27 gallon cube. Put the live rock it and started cycling. Question is there is film and particles at the top. I have a magniflow 160 pointed towards the surface. I also have 2 sun sun circulation pumps on the way. Is there anything else I need to do to keep the film away?

Do you have an overflow? If not you can syphon it out with a empty water bottle when you do a water change.

I do not have an overflow. Yea I figured it would be okay once I siphoned and did a water change here soon. Just didn't know if I should be doing anything different

That film is an indicator of DOC's
Dissolved organic compounds
Water changes or efficient skimming will help reduce this

So how quick should I do my first water change? I just filled it last night

It's from your live rock you added.
Without becoming an algae tank I would change water now to help suppress algae growth.
After that let the cycle begin.

I've already added the bacteria too. Okay I'll do the change tonight

Would I be okay to do the change tomorrow. I was actually gonna go buy my siphon tomorrow

Yes and try to siphon the film off the water to help aid in o2 co2 exchange

Alright thanks :) my 2 pumps should be here soon that that should help with the surface and air flow
