Just wondering if someone could give me some advice on which filter to buy for my 260 litre saltwater aquarium please.
At the minute i'm using a V2 600 protein skimmer, and two small filters what are too small for the tank and ain't doing much in the way of filtering fish poo or anything.

I have:
About 15kg live rock,
3 hermit crabs,
3 snails,
2 clownfish,
2 four striped damselfish,
2 blue damselfish,
and 1 sand sifting Starfish.

I have only had my tank setup for 8/9 weeks and its the first time i have owned a saltwater aquarium.

Thanks for your help

In a 68g tank you need a minimum of 680gph in water movement. I don't know what powerheads your using right now, but you could try upping the flow, this usually helps keep matter suspended for your skimmer to grab hold of. Try positioning the powerheads on opposite sides of the tank.

You could use the filter if you wanted to. I'd recommend cleaning it out really well once a week to keep it from being a Nitrate factory. I'd also use my hose to clean it well, this way bacteria doesn't grow and you won't need to be concerned about removing it when you wanted to.

Most SW tanks do not require a filter. The CUC, Skimmer and live rock will remove everything that needs to be removed.

Check out Jeff from lifereef.com. He makes custom acrylic filtration systems. I am using their Berlin System and could not be happier.
