Filter Cartridge

Hey everyone. Setting up a lil Quarentine tank. Have a cheap HOB filter. The box came with some carbon filter cartridges and another one called BioClear. If I am planning on medicating my fish in this tank and remove the carbon cartridges, are these bioclear cartridges sufficient enough to use? The reason why I ask is cuz it says "Best for Goldfish" lol

You can cut the cartridge along the top and shake out the carbon. After your done, you can pour carbon back in
