I've got two of these in my tank that I've found. Both on Florida aquacultured live rock. One very small, one large. They appear to be some sort of filter feeder inside the rock..? Maybe it's a shell that looks like rock? I don't know, but it's freaking cool.

Probably an easy ID for someone around here.

The big one. It was closed earlier, but forgot to snap a shot.

That's what I was figuring, but had never seen one like these two. It's as if they are part of the rock structure. How did these come to be? This is aquacultured rock, so I assume it's mined rock of some sort. They make quick work I guess!

Aquacultured rock is usually farmed in the ocean and who knows what will show up in and on it although those critters are pretty cool and nice rock.

It definitely came out of the ocean. I just meant it's been in the ocean like a billions years less than real ocean rock. :p
