I have three chromis and one of them seems to be an oddball. This chromis swims around with its mouth in an unhinged position during feedig time and is completely normal afterward. Has anyone else had a fish like this?

I just noticed mine doing the same thing the other day. Not sure if it goes away when he's not feeding though. I see he's definitely eating though.

I read somewhere it is more of a defense thing. Maybe during eating, it is the biggest or smallest and it is showing off.

Mine do that from time to time, but just for a second or so, looking as if they stretch their mouths muscles. In my case it just seems random at feeding time rather then it looking like a display or social interaction. But thats just my observation. Curious if anyone knows what exactly it is.

Only one out of my three do it and it does it every single time I feed without fail. I sure did freak out the first time I noticed haha

I have 2 chormis and the smaller one does the same thing during feeding. other than that they both get along just fine ever since they killed off Enrique the 3rd chromis... rip Enrique the blue/green chromis. lol

I started with four and they killed off the smallest giving me the group of three I have now. The current three show no aggression towards each other though. I'm glad to see that this mouth thing is noticed by a few others haha

It's also the smallest of my four that does it. He never did it before recently, at least as far as I know.
