Filter floss debate

Good morning does anyone have an alternative for filterfloss? Can you use pillow stuffing from walmart? Etc etc...

I have used both front LFS and Wal-Mart pillow floss. Don't see any difference other than cost. I think the pillow floss does not last as long but for the costs it's no big deal.

You can use quilting batting from Walmart just make sure it's 100% polyester and there are no dyes or additives. You can also buy felt by the yard for around $6 at any craft store for DIY filter pads & socks.
Pick up a sowing machine cheap at the Salvation Army, GoodWill, or most any resale shop. Saves you lots of money for all the other stuff you'll always need.

The stuff from Walmart used to make my skimmer go nuts. I don't use filter floss anymore, but keep an eye out for that.

+1 on quilt batting. Real cheap, works great and easy cleanup.

I use pillow floss from Walmart.. it's cheap, 100% polyester and made in the USA. I rinse it good before using and change it out every couple days
