Filter floss in a mesh sock???

hey gang,

Has anyone tried putting filter floss in a mesh sock for easy maintenance as well as clear water?

I`ve done that..great way to polish your water but does get dirty very quickly.

I figured it's just easier to rinse the sock and replace the floss. Double whammy!!

If it's a coral tank, consider eliminating that maintenance step altogether and switch over to a 300-400µ mesh sock. Let everything go through and get recycled as coral food. If it settles in the sump (aka detritus), then consider adding a powerhead to prevent that. An open sump facilitates this, but it should be more or less possible in most setups.
