Looking for other options for filter floss .
up until now I have been buying bags of floss and cutting it to size
Instead of buying this product is there any other options ?

there is another option....ditch the floss altogether and get a fleece roller ;) My sump water keeps bouncing around because i'm too lazy to clean my filter cup or filter sock.

Look for untreated polyester quilting/pillow stuffing material such as polyfil. Has been used for years as an aquarium filter floss material.

Yup, they do make rollers that can handle the flow/bioload. To answer the question, there are other brands of floss out there. Intend to like the two step flosses. Are you just looking for another brand of floss?
Either brand or other options for mechanical filtration .
The problem with these . If it’s not changed often it will restrict flow causing that section of the sump to overflow .

Trust me, I'm aware. I did polyfill with media cups, floss pads, mesh socks, felt socks. No matter what filter media I used about 72 hours in, your going to have to do something about it as it packed up. Thus I went filter roller on both larger tanks.
