Hi all,

I’m really new to marine, bought a 500 litre (110 gallon) tank and I’m just trying to make it the best that it can be and trying to make as few mistakes as possible if I can help it.

In my sump I have this white foam filter pad, it seems to get dirty practically over night and I just wondered if anyone had any better alternatives or maybe a link to a better quality one of these.

as I said I’m relatively new to this so I’m open to interpretation and alternatives if it will make things better/easier.

With the set up you have I don't know that you have any options that will work better and not need to be cleaned less.

Where do you guys get replacements for the floss though? I’m struggling to find them, I was wondering if you could just get a sheet and cut it up into sections.
