not sure about your sump design but, I use 200 micron filter socks with the drawstring that I hang on the overflow pipe coming into my sump. works great for me and is easy to swap out every other day. I have six and throw them in the wash when I am down to the last one. hope this helps you
Yea I have the bioball type. The old style lol. When I can afford a new sump I will get the type that has the socks first. I have 200 sock on my outlet of my protein skimmer, helps with noise and bubbles. I'm starting to change it every 2 days. thank you
back in my late teens I worked at a place that built wet/dry filters and I always liked them (IF) I kept up with the mechanical filtration for nitrate reduction so don't throw it out, great source of "good" bacteria!
