So I thought I got a good deal I hope. I know there's a lot of bad about wet/drys. I recently purchased 55gal pre drilled with stand with , sealife system wet/dry with pump. T5 lighting system , HOB octopus skimmer with pump uv sterilizer phosphate and nitrate reactors with pumps. 4new extra bulbs tons of new chemical and test kits ps $300 but now I read how bad wetdrys are what are my choices for filter if don't use wetdry?

Not sure of wet/dry filter you have, but if it has sections, take out the bioballs and give those to your cat to play with. Fill this section with sand and put a light over it to grow cheato.

The other option is to sell the wet/dry and buy a tank at Petco's dollar a gallon sale and make a new sump with baffles. Buy the biggest tank that will fit under the stand....I'm guessing a 20 long.

Would the nitrate reactor and phosphate reactor help the wet/ dry with sump?
