how far down should it be? I got an anemone yesterday and it got sucked into it sadly (hope he lives), so I was wondering if maybe it should be up higher?

Is it for a canister filter?

Unfortunately some anemones like to walk around and if they get near that or any power heads they will get sucked in. Moving it higher or lower wont help if they are free floating.

You could put a pre filter sponge over the intake to help prevent the anemone from actually being sucked into the teeth of the filter, that way you could easily get it off

It is a cannister. Thats a good idea, maybe cut a sponge and glue it on?
