Hello I have a new BioCube 32 LED with Steve's LED upgraded lighting. I have only been using "premium" prepared water from my LFS (Nemo Aquarium - one of the most trusted places in the Atlanta area). Recently got a diatom bloom which I think came from slight over feeding plus using those uber lights for 10h/day. I recently did 6 gal water change, cleaned off my live rock and sand bed, added a top layer of Polifilter to the media basket, and cut the lights back to 7h/day using only the blues. Should I also swap out for fresh Chemi-pure and Purigen in the media basket? The current media is less than a month old.

Thanks

Just rinse the media bags in some extra saltwater and shake any detritus and such out of them. They should still be good.

Nope. Diatoms are part of the natural cycle of a newer tank. Diatoms will regress with time. I swap my chemipure every 2 months and I keep purigen until it looks light brown then I bleach. I replace purigen after the second bleach or about every 6mo. But that's just from my experience
