Filter Sock Bubbling Over

I have to change my sock every two to three days. If it gets dirty it overflows just like yours. BTW... I hate filter socks!
I like the idea of the clean water. Amazon just messed my shipment of my extras up and since it wasn’t too old so I wasn’t sure if that’s what was causing it but seems like that is the problem.

I will have to verify, but I am pretty sure the person I bought it off has it glued. You’re talking about just removing that whole pipe section to change the sock right?
Just the sock itself will need to be changed out for now. You should see the white, round plastic rim of the filter sock and the fleece sock itself attached to it.

That shouldn't be glued to its holder and should be easily removed

+1 I use a mesh, rinse out after a few days and keep truckin'. :)

By the way @BRS sells a mesh sock that last a lot longer than the fleece ones. They don’t polish the water as much as the fleece ones but they do catch all the larger things like leftover food, etc.

Right, but if the pipe went down into the sock how could you get it off the holder without removing the pipe? I can get mine off because mine doesn’t go into the pipe currently.

I know you are 100% correct about bleaching. I just have a difficult time bleaching purigen or socks. I know it's all just in my head. I'm just weird about it. Anyone else weird like me on the bleach washes?

Nope, I bleach my socks every time and I use more than a cap full. I'll let them sit in bleach for a day or two. A good rinse and dry out after and they are good to go. Never had any issues so far.

I disconnect the section of pipe that goes into the sock. That section isn't glued

Gotcha! That’s what I figured. I think the person that had it before me glued mine. I will check when I get home. Either way this weekend I will replum it so I can disconnect and run it close to the bottom of the tank.

Try extending the pipe down to water level inside the sock. It may be causing the bubbling from agitation in the water
I removed the sock and it is the pipe causing the water to bubble because it’s above the water line. When you set the pipe should it be slightly above the water line or actually below the water line?

My sump level never changes due to my ATO. And it can't really siphon, it just drains my display to the bottom of the overflow teeth
I don’t have an ATO yet but I refill twice a day. I probably get maybe an inch inch and a half flux between fills.

Cool, let us know if that helps
Plumbing update. See pictures. Lowering it into the water seemed to help with most of the bubbling.
