So I wanted to try something and left my filter sock in my sump for 3 months to see what would be living in there when I pulled it out and today was that day. Help me identify these and tell me if they are bad for my tank. Other then these there was a bristle worm and some pods.

The limpet is a good part of your CUC, throw him back in the tank.

The anemones, could be majano or aiptasia, hard tell with them out of water.

With filter sock left in for such an extended period did you see nitrates spike? Wondering as I change as soon as the flow thru slows and they are just ready to overflow.

Ok cool aiptasia would make sense unfortunately. I didn't really notice a spike I've had this tank up for almost 3 years so nothing really changes quickly. I did have a bit of an algae bloom in this time though.

Thanks I’ve been a bit paranoid of any source that could contribute to nitrates rising. Now I won’t feel bad missing change by a few here and there :)
Thanks for sharing your experiment with us.
