Filter sock holder not glued in?

I just received my custom sump and as I opened the box I saw the filter sock holder isn’t glued in but instead just rests on a ledge. I’m guessing this is a problem because some of the water will flow around this acrylic piece and not go through the socks. Would love some opinions on it before I go complain to the manufacturer. Maybe I’m overthinking it and it isn’t a problem?

Nope. This was the intended design. The ledge doesn't even go all the way around and this piece was taped to the bottom of the sump when I opened it.

You need to water test it anyway (at least I would). Fill it with tap and run a pump on recirc. See if it the holder was a flaw or feature before you "fix it".

Good point. I would have leak tested already by now but this sump is huge so I have to wait until later today when someone can help me move it to the ground (it is currently sitting on top of the tank box so I'm dying to move it anyway).
