Here is layout of my current system which is working extremely well at keeping nutrient levels consistent. When I first set this up I was having algae control problems. Months later after setting this up, problem solved.

Now that I'm going to focus more on the fish community, I wonder if my bilogical system should be tweaked a bit. What got me thinking about this is I clean the 2 socks out every 3 days. There are never REALLY dirty but they do pick up a bit of whatever is in the water before it hits the skimmer, bio media and sponge filters. However the sock from the refugium is also picking up pods and other micro creatures that could be used as food for the fish. Up until now haven't worried too much about that since corals were more of focus and I have kept fish quantities very low. But I am getting ready to ramp that up to maybe 6 or 7 and I wonder if I should get rid of the sock coming from the fug?

Any advice would be appreciated on that subject or critiques on the entire system.

I would run the drain from your refugium directly to the return pump section. I would have a screen of some sort to keep bits of cheeto out.

You have confirmed my thinking also. The screen may work. Most of my macro is proliferia so most of time its not to bad. I keep skiming the top with a small net to get any decaying matter out. Thanks for your input.
