Hey guys,

Quick question, just stocked my freshly cycled Red Sea 350. I am using Fiji pink sand so it's super fine and my high flow tank seems to be stirring it up abit.

I am not sure the mesh filter socks that come with the Red Sea is trapping any of the sand dust and it's just going though. Should I get a felt filter sick or a lower micron? Also is having some dust in my tank going to hurt anything?

I would think the silt will settle in a little while. A smaller micron would help. Any fish in the tank yet?

Yes, all of my livestock is in the tank including fish. Will they be ok from this?

Maybe the silt might irritate the corals & the fishes gills a little .I'm not really sure. How about a turkey baster to gently blow away any silt on your corals?
