Filter sock to Media Basket

Hello! So I set up my IM 14 Peninsula on Monday night and have been running the filter sock in it. My question is, when do I switch over to my media basket? Should I keep using the sock until I add livestock? Or this more of a personal preference? Thanks!

It is personal preference. You can just put media in the area from the sock to the pump if you keep the socks.
