It is not preventing your tank from cycling, generally clean every 3 days depending how fast it gets dirty. The stuff it catches just sits there and rots, it's continues to put nutrients into the water until you clean it. Upvote 0

It is not preventing your tank from cycling, generally clean every 3 days depending how fast it gets dirty.
