Filter socks for IM Nuvo 30 long.

So I ordered a 10 pack of the replacement filter socks for my nuvo 30. How often do you guys normally change yours out? Also, do you clean them and reuse them? If so what is your method? Considering that they have the square molded plastic piece at the top to fit the overflow chamber.

Mine are the 4” circles. I replace them when they looks dirty. But that also depends on how much livestock you have in your tank and feeding habits. Most folks change em out every few days or so.

I run mine in the washing machine with a bit of bleach and do a rinse after. Then toss them in the dryer. But as I’m doing this, a different clean sock is replaced in the sump

Thanks. I was just more concerned with the plastic piece, I guess. Didn't know if running it in the washer on the hottest cycle along with them tumbling around would warp up the plastic top piece or break it. I have front loading washers. My filters look like this.
