Always buy new…how do you clean existing filter socks

Throw them in the washer if significant other will let you.
Or spray off with pwr washer or hose

I use PNS probio in my tank so my socks stay nice and white. I change out weekly and just a little rinse with the hose and I'm done.

I blast them with a garden hose in my utility sink... turn them inside out, rinse them both ways. I've never put them in a washer or used chemicals. Gets them super clean and no smells
