I have a current battle to reduce my phosphates in my new tank, thanks to the guys on this forum, we "think" its leaching out of the rock. I am dosing daily to lower the Phos and we are making some progress. My question is, that fitting a much finer filter sock may help speed up the reduction in phosphates (according to some helpful people on here), I'm currently using the Red Sea socks for my Max Nano, but these are either 100um or 225um, but should I go finer? :)

What are you dosing daily? If you are using a liquid phosphate binder (lanthanum chloride) then you need a 1-5 micron sock to catch the percipients. Dose the product very slowly. Amazon sells these fine filter socks.

If you are asking what micron sock you want as a general reefing tool, I use 100 micron.
