Filter socks in my washer ?

i see people putting filter socks in the washer how do I do that?
Wouldn't there be a little of soap left over in the washer after my clothing is washed ?
Or I shouldn’t worry and just toss them In in there? Should I put bleach or anything ?
If I do do I need prime ?
Also air dry or dryer ?

I handwash, then add some bleach and let it sit and then rinse and mix with some prime and then air dry. Marinedepot has a video on this technique.

I run it with a little bleach then an extra rinse cycle. Air dry and before I use I soak / rinse in RO water to help avoid skimmer overflows.

No soap or softener. Bleach only.

Then I soak and rinse a couple times in a bucket to get all the bleach out. Then a final rinse and spin in the washer and hang dry.

I run one nylon mesh and 1 cloth sock. And I have 10 socks, so I do this once a month.

I'm concerned about this as well. I'm sure the prior load will get out most of the soap but it seems like there would be at least some residue. Depending on what kind of washer you have you may be able to take out the soap dispenser in case there is any residue in there. You could also do an extra rinse on the prior cycle & sock cycle. Rinsing in RO would also help. It doesn't sound like other people are having many problems though.

I wash mine on white setting hot water with bleach. I let them air dry. Been doing this for years.

yes that’s is my concern to but I seek none had ever had any trouble I have an old washer lol not something fancy
But I’ll just do what everyone does tired of buying filer socks I am just going to wash all 10 of them and
