filter socks only lasting a day

My filter socks in my trigger systems ruby sump start overflowing after just one day of use. I’m only running 1 out of the 2 available filter socks so that I have room for my reef Octo 150 skimmer. I wash them in the washing mashine with 2 “sanitize” cycles, no soap obviously.

Is it filtering at all if it’s overflowing? Is there any adjustment I can make to the depth of the drain tube to alleviate the problem?
