I have a couple of filter socks I've been considering putting into my sump to cut down on the microbubbles getting pumped back up afther the overflow adds them, but I have a question....How do you clean them after they get nasty? I never put them in because I'm afraid of the potential for becoming nitrate sinks....

Throw them in the washer inside out with a lil bleach... gentle cycle... and voila! Clean Socks!

Yhanks all, I just wasn't sure how to get them clean again....after they come out do you just air dry tham or rinse with RO/DI water to get rid of the tapwater nastiness (I live in Florida, Land of Filthy Tapwater)?

I have almost a dozen that I can keep swaping out. Just throw them in the washer with some bleach and let them air dry. If they smell like bleach when they're done, rinse them again in the washer.

I clean mine every 3 days. I just put it in the washer with a little bleach and let it air dry.
