Filter Socks

Hi, this might be a really stupid question but what's the best way to use filter socks when your drain pipe terminates under the water? My drain is very close to the glass of the sump so I can just about get a filter sock on the pipe but whenever I take it of to clean, I have to pull the whole sock under the water so half the gunk inside it ends up in the sump. Do you think I should re do the drain plumbing to make it easier to use filter socks? If I do do I need to have the drain terminating above the water line and will this make the drain more noisy or effect the siphon it pulls?

Sorry for all the questions any advice would be appreciated.

First I’d buy a corner mount sock holder. I would want the drain underwater to reduce noise, so when you move the plumbing use an elbow or coupling just above the sock and don’t glue the last pipe that goes into the sock/underwater. Then you can pull it off to easily remove the sock. This is just how I would do it. Hope it helps

Is it safe enough to have a detachable part at the end of the drain? Is that a quite common thing? I'd be worried the end bit of pipe would fall out?

My plumbing is sch 40 which fits really snug before glue. Plus the detachable piece starts just below the rim of the sump so if it fell out the water is still going in the sump
