Filter socks

What is a good micron size to use in your sump ?
I think I’m using 200 now abd should the sock go all the way down the length of the sump ?
Example: my sump is 16 inches deep I planned on getting socks that are 14 “ long

I have 200 they seem to work well and 14” socks is what you need if you get shorter you’ll need to change them faster.
