This one sounds simple but would love advice. I have an old pro clean wet/dry filter. Now I want to get away from bio balls. I do not have room for a fuge. So what I'm asking I guess is what can I use in place of bio balls in the wet/dry ? (what media ) ? Or how can I revamp the old wet/dry ? I also have a canister not in use (hear they are a pia .any advice would be great, thanks all in advance.

A picture of your filter would be helpful.. If it’s like most I would just make a rack out of egg crate to hold a filter pad or floss in the “dry” section for your pre filter and just keep your bioballs in the wet section.. I still use them submerged for biological filtration and know a lot of people that do, not as much surface area as some of the fancy ceramic media’s out there but a lot cheaper, they won’t leach anything into your water and pineapple sponges love to grow in all the nooks and crannies.
