So, I want to seperate my skimmer, some filtration media, a heater and chaeto in my Aqueon 29G. Drilling and a sump is not an option (if I do that I might as well just get a new tank).

So, I'm thinking of either:

1. getting a simple divider; put a media basket for the filtration media (seachem matrix, carbon, purigen, and phosbond), also place the chaeto, skimmer, and heater. And maybe put a small 100gph pump of some sort to push water chaeto-> skimmer -> media. Maybe a black acrylic divider with some teeth carved in above the chaeto.

Pros: cheap. I can remove all the stuff and vacuum it, to clear out detritus.

2. order a custom filter wall like you see in the AIO tanks (e.g. IM nuvo series). Have a special compartment for all of the above.

Pros: more orderly. Easier to ensure flow direction.

Cons: vacuuming will be harder.

What do you all think?
