Does anyone use filters for their tank. I use pinky filters in my tank for when the water flows down from my tank to my sump but have been reading that it takes A lot of nutrients away from my corals. Is this true ? Should I not use one or is this a false statement? It definitely keeps my tank clean from debris floating around but if it’s taking away from my corals I would like to stop. Thanks.

you are referring to mechanical filtration. Filter floss isn’t going to take nutrients away from the coral.

Unless the filter is some sort of chemical pad meant to bind or remove a certain substance. Is pinky filter the name or more general description?
