I'm wanting to move everything from my 20 gallon long to an empty 55 gallon. I am using a seachem 55 for now and I was wondering if that would work on my 55 gallon for right now? Per the specs it should but wanted to get feed back

Anything over 30g should require a skimmer. Although you could maintain water quality by doing alot of water changes. You'd have to do them weekly, and watch your numbers. The filter really isn't going to do anything for your water quality at that size, as you don't really need one in a SW tank, its basically there just to clean debre out of the water column, live rock, or dry rock do the nitrogen cycle for you.
