New to reefing, only been in the hobby for about 6 months. Have a 28 gallon cube mixed tank running kessil a150w light and marine land filter, 2 power heads rated at 455gph. Current livestock clownfish, six line wrasse, fire fish and a lawnmower blend, bunch of zoas and a acan.
did a 20% water change on Sunday and swapped out the filter pad and checked it this morning and this is what it was. I feed once a day in the morning about thirty minutes after the lights turn on and only enough to where there’s none left after 2 minutes. Any help would be great.

Its typical diatom sludge. Only way to get rid of it is to leave your lights off.

Most of it ends up in our skimmers. No worries. Just rinse the filter off and reuse.
