i just bought a used 190 gallon acrylic tank and have some questions on the filtration. I currently have a 75gal reef with a sump and skimmer. This new tank has a wet/dry and a large canister filter. The store said it will be fine, but I’m not totally convinced after reading here and other places. Although their store is huge and has many tanks and they said they use this type of filtration on some of their tanks still . I know it could be a nitrate factory without proper maintenance, but do you think I should change it before I instal the tank or just wait? I’m planning on doing a mixed reef with this tank as well. Thanks!

I wouldn’t run a wet dry on a reef. Plumb a correct sump setup like you would like it.

Do the largest sump amd fuge you can fit now and ditch the wet dry and canister. That was most likely set up as a fish only system. The pump you might be able to reuse if its not too old but its a power hog.
