my original purchase for a tank was a 65 gallon tank so all of the equipment i purchased for filtration, which was a cannister filter. i later decided to go smaller for the time being. so, i decided to go with a 20g for now. with discussions here on R2R, it was suggested for this tank, that it might be best to go with a standard back of tank type of filter, and i would not disagree. ive just been using what i have to do this. i find that the current canister filter gives good circulation, but so good that the 2 clowns i have, have to either chase the food, which they dont really like to do, or wait for it to circle back for their chance at getting it, so i figured it would be either that i turn the filter way down for speed, or just get a more suited filter for this tank size.
anywho...it is a simple setup. standard sand, 5 dry rock of varying size, a couple algae plants, 2 clown fish, 10/11 hermits all in a 20 gallon tank. again, nothing else, and nothing fancy happening, and simple question as well. what filter would you all specifically recommend for a tank of this size? links are appreciated as well, if you would like. picture of the setup just for reference.
p.s. if you look at the picture, there is quite a bit of circulation on the left, so i feed when they are on the right to make it easier. one of the fish is a bit of a spaz, so he doesnt mind chasing a little, but the other is really mellow and "gets yelled at" by the other when he tries to get food. the spaz doesnt really attack, but will chase the other a way every now and then, so i want to try to resolve that without splitting them up.
