I just rigged up a water line to my sump so I never have to fill up a bucket of water again (from the sink). Do filters for drinking water have anything bad in them that will affect my tank?

That’s just a carbon filter nothing bad there.

Are you going from an RO/DI unit to this to your sump? Or straight from your water line through this filter to your sump?

Straight from a water line. I'm one of the few people who have near perfect water, just a little silica in it. My water is from a well and tests show I don't have any contaminates or excess minerals so I've never used a rodi and never had an issue

Then you should be good to go! :)
