Filtration - are you referring to mechanical or biological?

On my 120DT I don't use any mechanical filtration at all - just live rock to support the biological filtration. I siphon out the sump every few months to get rid of the accumulated detritus.

Others with a sump use filter socks or other means to control solid waste.

On a 60 cube I had for 22 years, I used a dual biowheel HOB and a canister.

For many reasons, what you want to keep in the tank will help you decide just what it's filtration needs are.

I don't have a tank yet and I'm trying to decide on what to get, I don't want a hang on the back because I don't like how they look

I suggest reading for a few hours on this forum and studying what successful members have already built.

I had a 50 gallon breeder with a 20 gallon sump and always wished I had gone bigger on the sump side. Research is your friend in this hobby.

You can make either work, a sump or an aio, I wouldn’t pick a tank based on filtration, pick the tank you have space for and like, then comes the filtration question.

link to the tank so people can give their opinions on it...just keep in mind, a bow front will be made of acrylic so can scratch easier.
