Added a second juvenile clown last night and woke up this morning to my original clown looking like this...

Will this or is this infected? How can I tell?

I would doubt fin rot if that happened overnight. What other livestock do you have? It's also possible that the new clown was aggressive to the existing clown

I agree.. if that happened over night somebody ate his tale. It could very well get/be infected after the fact, but that much damage would probably have been caused by a very rude tank mate.
You'll want to make sure you keep them fed and happy, if you have any vitamin supplements to add to their food then do so to help the clown fight off any infection that might set in.

I agree it is probably due to fighting. How is the other clown looking?

Thanks everyone. Woke up today and his fin already looks to be growing back somewhat which is surprising to me.

I though aggression too but it just looked so bad... No other fins seem to be nipped.

In the tank I have the 2 clowns and also had just added some hermits and snails. The other clown looks great, he is slightly larger than the clown I already had.

I feed Thera A+ pellets which claim to have vitamin A, D, and E and also feed LRS Fish Frenzy, do I need additional vitamins as well?

I'm personally a fan of both Selcon and Zoecon.
