Hey all, so I had noticed a few weeks ago my clown had a small white speck on her tail. Only one I’ve noticed. Thought it was just some normal colors. The speck has now turned into a notch in her tail. Her behavior is the normal, all other fins appear fine, she’s eating well, and she doesn’t appear to have any other signs of damage on her. Water parameters are normal, no aggressive tank mates. Any idea what may be going on? I’ve attached a photo.

That is fin nip and likely from a squabble from another tank mate espoecially if another clown is present. Fin and tail rot will be very raggy looking

The weird thing is that it appeared as a small dot initially. It seemed to match her normal colors so I didn’t think twice. A few days ago the notch was there extending from where the small dot was. The tank mates include a fire fish goby, a diamond watchman goby, a fire shrimp, a condy anemone, a turbo snail, and a chocolate chip starfish. They are all in a 32 gallon tank.

None listed are really candidates for fin nipping. Keep an eye on it and see if it progresses. Ive had luck with melafix for such as fin and tail rot and injury
