Fin rot treatment in QT while on vacay?

Hi, first time posting after significant searching through the forum. I just established a brand new tank (details below) and first inhabitants were a clean up crew, shortly followed by a pair of maroon clowns (1 small & 1 medium) picked up at the LFS. The clowns were both in the same tank with handful of other inhabitants at the LFS, and it wasn't until i get them home, settled, and observing with my 4 y/o that i notices the smaller of the two had some detrition on the fins.


The smaller clown is ~1/2 the size of the larger, and during acclimation noticed the larger clown "nipping" at the smaller one.
At the LFS, the smaller clown was favoring the top left of the tank (part of the reason i didn't see the fins prior to purchase). When i put them in my tank, the smaller clown continued to favor the top left while the larger one explored his new home. It wasn't until i fed them that the smaller one moved away and began to explore.

Since introduction to the new tank, I've notice both clowns "cleaning" each other with pecks vs aggressive bites.

All of this said, i have some major concerns for the fins of the smaller clown and would greatly appreciate some advice. I've already moved him into a QT tank and began a treatment of kanaplex & metroplex (cant get furan-2). However this was a quick set-up and does not have any bio-filters.

Questions i have are multi-faceted:
1) is this the right treatment given observed behavior & external observations?
2) I am planning to go out of town for 4 days (Thursday night-Monday night) - should i leave the smaller clown in QT without nitrifying bacteria and include an ammonia treatment or move back to DT?
3) if this is the right treament and if left in QT - should i get someone to continue the dosing regimen while i am on vacation?

60 Gallon Cube
6 gallon sump
cycled (0 ammonia & 0 nitrites) & holding steady since August 10th
CUC added on august 12th
Clowns added on August 13th
PH in range of 8.2
Salinity @ 23 (in line with LSF water)

Thanks for the advice. Last thing i want is to come home from vacation with a floating fish...

Well quick update, I decided to move the little guy back to the DT last night. He had stopped eating and died this morning. So hopefully i can save the other, larger one, but he appears to have regressed behind some rocks instead of playing through the tank as he did the first couple of days.
