Looking for suggestions to add to my 75 gallon setup. My tank is extremely peaceful so I’m looking for a fish that won’t cause issues. Right now I have a Spotband Butterfly, 1 Clown, Royal Gramma, Diamond Watchman Goby, and a Valentini Puffer. I used to have a beautiful Indigo Hamlet but an equipment malfunction was too much for him and he unfortunately passed. I’d love to get another one but I was already playing with fire having him and a Gramma in the same tank as everyone told me he would eat him (after 3+ years he never was even slightly aggressive).

So I’m looking for suggestions on a peaceful addition to the tank that shouldn’t harass my Butterfly. Maybe a school of Chromis? I’d prefer something a little less well known since most people I talked to never had a hamlet…so I’m open to suggestions. No Tangs please.

Do you have a lid? If so have you ever thought of the tilefish? I currently own a flashing tilefish and he flashes depending on his surroundings. He’ll change colour depending on lighting (Dark or bright), during a water change he has gone orange and green but for his resting colours it’s either purple or electric blue.

Funny you ask I saw two skunk tilefish at my fish store and they were awesome looking. I do have a tight lid. I heard the skunk ones prefer to be in pairs - I was considering maybe grabbing those.

I would - Those are my dream tilefish along with a second flashing tile!! These fish are by far personable and I would never have a tank without one. It would be a tough choice between a second flashing tile and a Marcosi for me. The worst part about tilefish and keeping them is the acclimation period and peaceful introduction. For sure would grab them though, I don’t regret mine one bit.

What did you end up with? I’d love to see photos of whatever it was!!
I ended up with a Ruby Longfin Fairy Wrasse. I was at the store just looking around and this particular Wrasse had such a striking red ruby color. There were 2 others just like it but their colors were dull compared to this one. I've attached a few pics of the wrasse and also the rest of the live stock except for the Diamond Watchman Goby who doesn't like the paparazzi.

He's great. Super social. All five of the fish in the pictures come to the front of the tank to greet me/beg for food when I'm in the room. Zero aggression in the tank. I don't plan on adding anything else to the tank because they all seem to be so comfortable I don't want to mess with that.

I always love yellow watchman gobies and flame hawkfish!
