All of my fish died in quarantine today. I am at a complete loss, and very heartbroken. I am getting out of the hobby, but wanted to thank everyone who has helped me. God bless.

I am so sorry to hear this :( I understand how you feel. I lost a 150g full of fish to marine velvet several years ago and a few months ago a power outage caused the deaths of 1 fish and 40 acropora colonies and frags. It can be heartbreaking no doubt. Only you knows what's best for you. Maybe give it some time and see how you feel in a month or so? Best wishes...

Nothing wrong in getting out of the hobby and wanting to throw the towel in. We've all been there.

A word of advice though, at sometime in the future you may decide to come back. Seeing a reef somewhere will get to you and cause you to consider doing it again. Back in 93 I lost all my fish to ich and seriously considered getting out. $300 dollars in fish lost. It's hard to take, I know.

If anything save some of your equipment/tanks and store them. And if you do decide to come back, you'll have a head start. You'll be glad you did.

I wish you the best of luck and keep your head up. God bless you too.

I'm so sorry to hear that but please don't leave the hobby! I've never even spoken to you before and would be sad to see you go. This just means you need to do it bigger and better next time :)
I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do. If you ever come back in let me know, I can hook you up with some free frags if you will pay shipping!

Sorry for your loss. Went through a similar situation a few months ago in my 150 (velvet). Lost almost everything and wound up just letting the system sit on life support for a while. After a little while the spark reignited. If you get out, or decide to stay, best of luck!

Sorry to hear. A lot of us have had those moments when everything seems to be going wrong. Best of luck to you :)

Getting out doesn't preclude the chance that you will one day get back in. I was out for a decade. Happy to be back.

I am sorry Jim that this happen to you. Putting all your fish in a bare, relatively, QT likely did them in. All died at once likely due to waste, ammonia build up, unless you have a well break in filter that take care of the ammonia.

It you ever want to restart, do it really slow. Either add fully QT fish one at a time or use other methods. I don't QT my fish but I have been at this 30+ years. If you use QT, it need to be stress free place where you treat a new fish. It also need to be a fully function tank that have to be able to handle the waste produce by the fishes/animals in it.

Best of luck.

I don't know the circumstances surrounding what happened but I do know how heartbreaking it is to lose your fish. My condolences to you. God bless.

Keep all of your stuff. I have given up more than once. Then I just have to have an aquarium again. I have decided not to ever get rid of my tank again. It is too embarrassing when I start back up, and my wife never understands.
