I have a 125 (6ft) gallon mixed reef. I currently have 2 clowns and a firefish. With the sales going on I want to go ahead and get a purple tang. I have been trying to put together the best stock list I can for around $200 to add to the tank next. After this I want to add a group of dispar Anthias and a fairy wrasse or two and call it quits. I am struggling with a couple of things, 1) could I get a kole tang with the purple tang and have those two tangs in the tank be okay and 2) the stock list
If I get the kole tang I would order this
Purple tang
Kole tang
Melanurus wrasse
Yellow coris wrasse
(Plus the clowns, firefish, Anthias, and fairies)
Without the kole
Purple tang
Melanurus wrasse
Yellow coris
Tailspot blenny
Royal gramma
(Plus clowns, firefish, Anthias, fairies)
So basically asking which stock list looks better and if those two tangs would be ok in a 125 gallon, thanks.

I think a kole tang would be fine. I have seen the two kept together a few times. Some have had purple tangs with high aggression. I personally have not had purple tangs behave anymore aggressively than any other Zebrasoma species of tang. There will likely be aggression when the second tang is initially introduced, but should subside in a few days.

Good deal. I went with the purple, kole, yellow coris, melanurus. I think later I will add a RG, group of dispar and a fairy or two and be happy with my stock. I was mainly concerned about the kole and purple together and the addition of the Anthias and fairies later.
